Joomla does not allow upload of some xml files, even if the extension is added to the appropriate entries in the global configuration. There is a way to fool Joomla, because it inspects the first 256 characters of the file only:

Just insert a line with minimal 256 spaces at the very beginning of that file. Then try to upload again.
